CORDILLERA BLANCA

There are many paths linking the Callejon de Huaylas (the Huaylas valley) and the Callejon de Conchucos. All of them cross the Cordillera Blanca creating a unique environment for mountain biking. Touring these paths among the world’s highest tropical mountains, visiting along the way multicolored lakes, picturesque villages, and breathing the fresh air at altitudes often above 4000m make the experience for those who love this sport even more attractive. Equally spectacular are tours in the Cordillera Negra (Black Mountains), due to its panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca’s snow covered peaks, lakes, and rivers and its challenging biking routes.

 

The routes are many; there are options from one day to week and longer trips, like the five-day circuit that covers a considerable part of the Cordillera Blanca and passes close to Huascaran, Peru’s highest peak.
